FUNetix® is a revolutionary "Reading Learning" application developed with meticulous attention to detail and validated through 17 years of extensive testing by the American Youth Literacy Foundation, 501 c 3.
Featuring over 2,000 screens of fully narrated linear content, FUNetix offers children a comprehensive reading learning experience that mirrors the effectiveness of 12 hours of personalized tutoring sessions.
Within forty modules, children progress from basic ABC's to a 2nd-grade reading level in approximately 12 hours, instilling in them newfound confidence in their English decoding abilities.
What sets FUNetix apart is its patented methodology (US 8,131,538 B2) which uniquely teaches all 44 sounds of the English language through pictograms before delving into English spelling conventions and irregularities.
The application eliminates the stress associated with learning to read by introducing Kindercode™ (also known as 21E®), a phonetic English code that simplifies blending and segmentation through consistent symbol/sound pairings.
As children advance rapidly to reading common English words and sentences, they benefit from advanced learning support tools like Audio Support, Phonetic Support, and the patented Diacritic Support system.
With FUNetix, learners are methodically guided through gradual diacritic reduction as they familiarize themselves with English Verbal Word Form Patterns, enhancing their comprehension of sentences and stories.
While brief "phonics" sessions reinforce common English letter patterns, FUNetix primarily offers an engaging progression through unique games and challenges, culminating in proficient and confident readers in a remarkably short time frame.
FUNetix's success stems from its ability to alleviate the challenges children face when encountering unfamiliar words, providing them with comprehensive sound data through exclusive learning tools.
This innovative system was conceived by a former linguist for the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army, in 2003, who developed it to address his son's reading difficulties using insights from ancient language systems.
The mission of the American Youth Literacy Foundation since 2008 has been to widely distribute the free FUNetix reading system to every child in America and beyond.
